Frequently asked questions

It all began with a simple idea fueled by a deep passion. As a small business, we pride ourselves on personal attention and dedication to every detail. Our approach is rooted in quality and integrity, ensuring that everything we do reflects our commitment to excellence.

Where do I park?

There is visitor parking to the far left and far right of the condo complex under a sign saying "visitor parking". Please avoid parking on the driveway since it may be blocking my spouse from entering or exiting.

How early should I arrive for my appointment?

Please do not arrive more than 5 min early for your appointment as I may be getting prepared or finishing with a previous client.

How do I prepare for Hawaiian Lomi Lomi?

1. Arrive with an open heart:

Come to the session with willingness to receive, and surrender control. Lomi Lomi works best when you let go of the need to "do" anything and allow the body to be guided by the flow.

2. Hydrate and avoid heavy meals.

3. Set your own intention:

You might silently set a personal intention - healing, clarity, forgiveness, or simply peace.

4. Flow and draping:

Lomi Lomi uses warm oil and long, flowing strokes with minimal draping to allow full-body movement. Your comfort and privacy are always respected. Loose clothing is recommended after your session to allow the oils to absorb naturally.

Do you offer direct billing?

Yes! I direct bill to most major insurance companies in Alberta with the exclusion of Medavie Blue Cross at this time.

Are your treatments covered under massage therapy benefits?

Yes. CranioSacral Therapy, Hawaiian Lomi Lomi, and Vocal/TMJ Release are all billed as Registered Massage Therapy and are eligible for massage therapy insurance claims.

Reiki alone as a treatment is not billable under insurance, but in combination with massage therapy it is eligible for insurance claims as well.

What is energy work (ie. Reiki, Hawaiian Lomi Lomi, sound therapy)?

Energy work is a gentle, holistic approach that helps calm the nervous system, release tension, and restore balance in the body. Using subtle touch, breath, intention, and vibration, it supports both physical and emotional well-being.

Examples of energy work include:

  • Reiki: calming hands-on energy balancing

  • Hawaiian Lomi Lomi: flowing, intuitive bodywork that moves energy and softens tension

  • Sound/Vocal therapy: using vibration and tone to release stress, especially in the jaw and throat

Many clients describe feeling lighter, clearer, more relaxed, and more grounded after a session.

What if I’m not sure which therapy to book?

By booking an Intuitive Flow Massage, you don’t have to choose a specific modality in advance.
At the start of your session, you can share what you’re experiencing — physically, emotionally, or energetically — and I will explain the treatment options. From there, the session is tailored to your unique needs, blending techniques such as Massage, CranioSacral Therapy, Lomi Lomi techniques, Vocal/TMJ Release, and Reiki (when combined with massage).

This approach allows your body to guide the session, ensuring you receive the most supportive blend of therapies in the moment.

Can I refer a friend?

As a home-based practice, I value safety, privacy, and the trust built within my client community.

To help Wildflower Wellness grow, I offer a $20 discount to any existing client who refers a friend or family member. Your referrals mean the world to me - they allow my practice to flourish through connection, care, and trust.

Do you do deep tissue massage?

When booking an Intuitive Flow Massage, each session is guided by what your body truly needs. This may include elements of deep tissue work, but it is important to know that "deep" doesn't always mean "deep pressure."

True therapeutic depth comes from working with the body, not against it. Sometimes the most effective release happens through gentler techniques that address the fascia and support the nervous system in feeling safe enough to let go. When the pressure is too intense, the body can tense in protection, limiting progress and potentially causing discomfort.

Intuitive Flow Massage allows me to tune in and respond to your body's signals, using a blend of modalities that promote trust, safety, and genuine release.

Do you do mobile treatments?

For safety reasons, I offer mobility treatments only to clients with limited mobility, as my treatment room is located upstairs. Prices for mobile sessions vary depending on distance.

If you are interested in a mobile treatment, please email Wildflower Wellness directly to schedule an appointment.

Why do emotional releases happen during CranioSacral Therapy and energy work?

The body doesn’t just hold physical tension — it also stores stress, memories, and emotions in the nervous system and fascia. CranioSacral Therapy and energy-based treatments work deeply with the parts of the body that regulate safety, rest, and emotional processing.
When the body finally feels safe and relaxed, old tension, stress, or emotions can naturally soften and move out.

Sometimes this shows up as:

  • unexpected tears

  • laughter

  • tingling or warmth

  • deep breathing

  • a feeling of “letting go”

It isn’t dramatic — it’s simply the body releasing what it no longer needs.

Emotional release is a normal response, and many people feel lighter, clearer, and more grounded afterward. It’s not something forced — the body chooses it when it’s ready.
